Mid-February already—how did that happen? Winter is still with us, but we’re finding plenty to brighten up the days down at Bonnytoun. This month, we took a little trip down memory lane with a look back to 2014—ten whole years ago! A reminder of just how long Grow Wild has been part of our lives, filled with happy memories and good food.
On the shelves, it’s all about seasonal gems—Seville oranges for marmalade makers, fresh duck eggs for a protein-packed breakfast, and organic chocolate milk (with tasters in the shop if you need convincing!). We also have delicious stuffed Greek vine leaves and fresh mixed squash from Bedlam Farm in Peterborough—ideal for roasting or adding some colour to winter dishes.
And if you’re stopping by this weekend, why not take the scenic route? A kingfisher sighting and a basket full of organic goodies? Not a bad way to spend a morning.

A Fond Look Back to 2014
Throwing it back to 2014, when our working tractor was an old thing called ‘Comedy’—named because she had a mind of her own, steering wherever she fancied! We’ve dug out some sweet photos from the archives, including one of Lindsay and her lovely mum, Gus, planting broad beans on the back of our old transplanter.
And then there’s Ben on Comedy, showing off his very own Heath Robinson-style irrigation system—a homemade setup that involved pulling a trailer loaded with 1,000 litres of water and turning a tap so the front pipes could spray onto freshly planted crops. It might have been a little rough around the edges, but we still use a version of his system today!
A lot has changed in ten years, but one thing remains the same—good old-fashioned ingenuity and a lot of laughs along the way.
Fresh Finds for February!
Our shelves are looking especially delicious this week, with plenty of seasonal treats to stock up on. First up, stuffed Greek vine leaves, ready to unwrap and enjoy with a glass of something chilled—the perfect Saturday afternoon aperitivo.
We’ve also had a fresh delivery of beautiful mixed squash from Bedlam Farm in Peterborough—great for roasting, blitzing into soups, or adding a splash of colour to your favourite dishes.
And for those who love a proper breakfast, fresh duck eggs are back! Rich, golden, and full of flavour, they’re perfect for everything from Sunday pancakes to a simple soft-boiled egg with buttery toast soldiers.
A Chocolatey Treat from Mossgiel
Organic chocolate milk from Mossgiel has arrived in the farm shop, sweet, creamy, and made with the best organic ingredients, it’s the perfect little indulgence.
And if you need convincing, we’ve got tasters in the shop this week—so pop by and give it a try!
Seville Oranges – Marmalade Season is Here!
It’s that time of year—Seville oranges are in! These beautifully bitter citrus fruits are only around for a short time, so now’s your chance to get marmalade-making.
We’ve got everything you need, including organic sugar, so you can whip up a batch of the good stuff. Click here for our own recipe.
A Weekend Stroll Around Linlithgow Loch
If you’re stopping by this weekend, why not make a morning of it with a walk around Linlithgow Loch? It’s the perfect way to soak up the fresh air, stretch the legs, and maybe even spot a kingfisher or two along the way. Our lovely customer Andrew walks here twice a week, birdwatching as he goes before popping in for his shop— a routine we could all get on board with!
